Tyrone Township is preparing a new Master Plan!

Planning is a process that involves the conscious selection of policy choices related to land use, growth, and physical development.  The decisions that the Township makes in this Master Plan process will have a significant impact on the character and quality of life in the Township into the future.

The most recent Master Plan was adopted in 2012.  Because communities and conditions are constantly changing, it is essential to periodically review and update master plans and reevaluate its basic vision and implementation.

Since Tyrone Township is located at the northern edge of development in southeastern Michigan, development pressures are likely to increase as new housing and commercial uses spread and people are attracted to the Township’s rolling hills, attractive vistas, and rural character.

The ongoing Master Plan process will identify a vision of Tyrone Township’s future, goals, objectives, and strategies related to land use and development that the Township will pursue.
